I am adding this here to save on unpopular headlines and space.

when it comes down to it this is indirectly related to Vitesse joining the Russell.

Form 4 filing released on 6/12/14 shows William Martin purchased 1,600,000 shares of Vitesse at $3.35 a share.

that's another $5,360,000

Martin is now the owner of 14,321,127 shares of Vitesse and owns more than 10% of Vitesse stock.

I saw that too- Must be nice to be able to scoop up shares below the market price. He bought a chunk a year ago at $ 2.15 (Nice profit) and now is already $ 192k ahead on current purchase (closed at $ 3.47/share today).

"I am adding this here to save on unpopular headlines and space."
"when it comes down to it this is indirectly related to Vitesse joining the Russell."

Deep wisdom and judicious use of space. could you explain how to the above sentence??

GARIF,

you will have to be a bit more definitive on the sentence you are referring to.
you ask " could you explain how to the above sentence?? "
you have written down two sentences

8 stocks being added to the Russell 1000 and the expected investment impact of that.

"SENTENCES'' refers to TWO or more, more clues I cannot give you. You come across as a man of exceptional intellect, I have confidence in you friend.

In the final analysis it matters not how you respond because all of us are caught in the same game of trying to handicap/decipher the conundrum that is Vitesse.

Round and round we go, who's going to be right, no body knows... so we all speculate,conjecture... The very nature of the game exposes one to looking more foolish than WISE.

SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS is one of our deadliest sin.

GARIF,

"sentence" exactly like you have written above, refers to ONE. Look at your post again, it says SENTENCE which is ONE.

I really don't know what your problem is. for awhile now you have been picking apart my posts attempting to "school me" on the way in which they are written.

this all after you accuse me of placing sarcasm on you, which is as far away from the truth as one could be! what the F--- is your problem! This all after I had written only a few days before: " thanks phobos and GARIF for all of the contributions".

this problem you are having is ALL on you dude, stop dragging me into all about you taking a "thank you" and turning into a huge clusterf---!!! for no reason at all!!

Tomorrow we'll be one step closer to knowing if VeriT and INTELLISEC are truly game changers. It's high-noon dear friends! moment of TRUTH time.

Once again(in my unqualified opinion) Vitesse is selling the potential of VeriT-INTELLI to become the backbone of many future projects, of even becoming standards...

NERVOUS TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Garif,

I don't see where anything happens tomorrow except for the R2000 and the quarter nearly over. But that won't even report until August. It is a weak quarter again by forecast and so if there isn't a "surprise" in the report or at the very least a more robust forecast for the 4th Qtr nothing changes except for the Russell. Nervous tomorrow - more like a yawn...

I am nervous because tomorrow they will announce additions/deletions for the 30th!!!

I was alluding to the Russell accepting us on the potential of VeriT-Intellisec

GARIF- I don't think VeriT-Intellisec means anything regarding the Russell. The selection is solely based on market capitalization- they don't care if it is from selling semiconductor chips or chocolate chip cookies.

Well, it is only about two years too late getting into the R2000, but finally we have made it. Now funds "have to" buy us. We will see how July goes. The stock is forming that familiar triangle pattern pointing around the 18th of July - we should expect a break up or down on the stock and given all that has happened so far - I would guess breaking to the upside.

Now that they have completed this offering of additional stock, hopefully they will move to eliminate the debt by paying it off. Let's not drag this out further with more negotiations with the debt holders. The market needs to see VTSS as debt free at last - that should move the stock by making us more interesting to the fund managers. Then there is always the great hope that Sales increase and the company finally becomes and stays profitable.

It has been a long time coming - the turn around of VTSS, but we should start to see some rewards in the not too distant future - let us all hope. I want to see Raging Capital get a 10X bagger on this stock.

The R3000 is made up of first the R1000 (the top 1,000 companies) and then the R2000 (the next 2,000 companies). Making the R2000 means that you are in the top 3,000 companies which is an improvement to where we have been.

Tech,
Sometimes last week as i walked by this fenced off apartment complex, I said hello to an 6 year old and a lady who turned out to be her grandmother. Are the cherries sweeter now i asked??
response came "what cherries"?? This is a cherry tree I responded.
Really?? said the little girl, with eyes wide open! Come closer as i showed them the well blended fruits. We tried a couple but were still not ready, so I continued to the local market; upon returning the little girl and her two High school sisters(just arrived) had brought down all but the highest fruits.

How long have you lived here? 3 years came response! and you never knew ... No said the older girls. Memories of the little girls reaction will bring me joy forever.

In many ways, I feel like that little girl, I stand corrected tech! I simply 'ASSUMED'(what they say is right) Russell worked much like a mutual fund; your cry took me to their site where I did what I should have done first and foremost...

Thank you Sir...

So much for the Russell effect. Six million shares traded, most at the close yesterday and down 5%.

6M shares traded in last hour and another 3M after hours at average price around $3.26. This covers the 8.5M share offering the underwriters got for $3.14. With their $230K fees this is about $1.1M profit in 10 days. Prearranged sales meant no need for effort to sell to public at $3.35. Nice racket. At least we have some stronger holders now.

That makes sense. Diluting the share-count by about 14% would bring the share price down to around $3.29 (from the previous day's close of $3.82). $3.26 is not that far off. No "bad news" likely beyond the stock dump. It probably settled a little lower due to the illiquidity caused by dumping it into the market all at once. I wonder if this is how they selected the offer price ($3.25)? Did they really have to dump the shares in the last 10 minutes of trading?

the dump at the close friday might have been from pre-arranged sales to long Rus funds - - - - -but there are also Short Rus funds - -and with a very small short interest in the ticker - - any short of size would cause the market makers to lower the bid significantly -- -

we will see what transpires -- -

the market is a voting machine -- until it becomes a

weighing machine

we will get our day on the scale

trade on!!

It would be nice if VTSS made an announcement regarding unusual trading activity in its stock Friday and also if they are now included in the Russell 2000 Index.

Since recent new share pricing was at $ 3.35 I can't believe someone acquiring new shares would dump so soon at a loss. This was definitely a prearranged sale at the close by some institution wanting out.

Somebody had a lot of shares - probably the market makers that got it for $3.14 and they got rid of it Friday for the $3.25 range. Remember, this is the end of the quarter for them also - they made a profitable trade right at the end of the day - six months from now, it is going to be a different story. In a few days, we'll see who bought and who sold.......

OMG- VTSS actually traded in After Hours (Up 1 cent). This widely ignored stock never trades in After Hours except after an earnings call.

Finally:
--------------------------------
Tue Jul 01 08:00:12 2014 EDT
CAMARILLO, Calif., Jul 01, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: VTSS) announced that it joined the list of companies on the broad-market Russell 3000(R) Index as of June 27, when Russell Investments completed the 2014 reconstitution of its comprehensive U.S. and global equity indexes. "Being added to this benchmark index is testament to the monumental work we've done to reinvent Vitesse and put the company on a clear growth trajectory," said Chris Gardner, CEO at Vitesse. "Over the past 18-24 months, we've effectively increased Vitesse's market capitalization by nearly 3x. We look forward to broadening our shareholder base with a wider range of institutions and investors."

Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indexes captures the 4,000
largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Vitesse's membership in the Russell 3000 remains in place for one year and means automatic inclusion in small-cap Russell 2000(R) Index, as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes.
