Exciting times indeed, Vitesse customers starting to ramp productions all over the globe! how can this not start reflecting in our accounts soon???
Vitesse is aiming to corner the MEF market, I am excited about her prospects. Even more exciting is the ability to get paid much sooner than in past years. Couple of years ago CRG talked about working on such capability, HE HAS MADE IT HAPPEN!!!
29-mil plus strong guidance would indeed be confirmation that Vitesse has seriously been deposing competitors sockets. We could flirt with 4 dollars before year end were this to happen.
Am I suffering from gullibility, ingesting too much of the CRG "hundreds of design wins" soup? perhaps! The awards from China's key builders is confirmation for me that Crg is about to start delivering BIG.

God bless you guys. I hope you are right. But it appears to me some of us are grasping at straws. But i will agree totally with you Garif. If we get $29 million in revenue in Sept. and "strong" guidance for December (I would put that at $30+ million) this would be the best news we have had from VTSS in literally years. Right now I can't see it. But here's hoping.

Share price is currently dropping like a stone ... more "softness in China"? And, true to form, we will get no confirmation either way until the official announcement.

Let's hope CRG's "Design Win Soup" doesn't turn out to be like Jim Jones's Cool-Aid from years ago, that his devout followers drank and went to their grave.

I am still guardedly optimistic about VTSS. At the last earnings announcement, they were into the next quarter, so my thinking is that CRG's estimate of $27M may be better than those of some companies that have financial processes that are somewhat less glacial. But having said that, could we please get a nod confirming or warning about what the rest of the market (thinks they) already seem to know? Why is this company so aloof to its shareholders?

Great find phobos,
the site you have listed above: http://ltemaps.org/home/
once the lte map appears, alongside the "browse" section below, click on LTE-Advanced.
it is absolutely amazing to see the many different opportunities that have evolved, using LTE-Advanced services.
there are nine pages in that section that include advances and agreements using LTE-Advanced services.
here are some of the countries listed that are now installing LTE-Advanced services
South Korea
England
France
Japan
Hong Kong
Phillipines
Australia
Poland
Austria
Russia
U.S.A
LTE-Advanced is Vitesse
I am adding shares

kudos phobos,
These are exciting times for the likes of Vitesse! her customers are winning deal after deal! My biggest concern is her ability to keep up with demand for products. It's VeriTime TIME on a global basis! great time to be on board.
I expect the lingering IP deals to help us handily beat the 27 million Crg announced for upcoming Q.

GARIF, I admire your optimism and faith in VTSS management (CRG) to be able to finally turn this company around.
If we can just get one quarter where results are decent and a trend change if you will, maybe your faith will be rewarded.
Posted by Techinvestor - 12 years ago
This stock is currently on a slow bleed. Hopefully we don't hit $2.00 again. But we have no news until the Sept quarter and year end results are announced sometime in early Dec. That is a full month away. And the only piece of news worth having then is the Dec. quarter guidance. I would think management could come up with some kind of positive comment or announcement however tangential if they believed the earnings and guidance were going to be well received. But no one has ever accused VTSS management of being stockholder friendly. So we sit and watch the stock tic down day after day.
Posted by dlog - 12 years ago
Is our pro-active (sarcasm) management team going to wait for the slip and fall attorneys to start filing class actions? All they need to do is confirm guidance -- that's it! Now this slide has been on very low volume, so I'm not too worried, but this bunch just defies gravity.
Posted by phobos - 12 years ago
when the big money deal was made many months back, Needham ended up with quite a few shares. could this "slow bleed" be them? they picked up shares for $1.75.
at $2.50 they are locking in a .75 profit. the only negative I see is no-one stepping up to buy. yet anyway.
with all of the past negative I will assume that EVERYONE is waiting for that good revenue number, which we still have not seen. will the fourth quarter be the one?

LTE Advanced, Industrial-internet, small cell, MEF, etc, etc have one thing they can't function well without, TIMING,! vitesse experts agree has about the best solution on the market today! how can this not lead to a better future for the company??
The retraction of the price might be the greatest opportunity yet to grab shares at prices that insiders do! I hope it dips into the $2.40's. Were it to visit two bucks, I would fear that dlog comment about 'design win" numbers not being corroborable would have come to light.
If indeed Vitesse is helping Zte(2012 award), GE, Huawei, Fiberhome(2012 award), broadcom, Symmetricom, and many others bring better products to market; how can this not reflect to the positive sooner than later???
Peace

Vitesse has added a third stop to the European expo they are on:
first stop was Dusseldorf Germany, September 26
second is the ITSF (Time & Sinc in Telecom Conference)
Lisbon, Portugal, November 5-7
third will be IWPC (International Wireless Industry Consortium)
Turin, Italy, November 12-14

christ3opher -- you are probably right about the source of the "slow bleed". It makes sense.
Posted by phobos - 12 years ago
VTSS, in the Gardner era, has a history of Non-transparency regarding pre-announcements for missing/beating earnings/revs estimates. I remember so many times they would miss estimates and never a peep out of them.
Posted by Techinvestor - 12 years ago
I was recently told by "investor relations" that the time period bewteen Q3 and Q4 is a "quiet period".
I replied that I was fully aware of the Vitesse "quiet period" and that maybe now is the time for a policy change. Back when we were delisted, there was a multi-year quiet period, that seems to be still going on today.
a few years back I remember hearing the reason why Vitesse is not very vocal regarding earnings and pretty much anything at all related to their business.
is because of the fact that they have relations with close to ALL the companies across the board and the fear that certain pieces of certain companies will be released. So, they are being "quiet" out of respect for ALL of their customers.
or, this is all a crock of shit showing Vitesse has no respect at all for their shareholders.
I am expecting to hear some very strong guidance during the next call regarding 2014 outlook. Also agree with GARIF thoughts on the company coming in above the $27M target.
What it all comes down to: Vitesse has been bombarding us with design wins and agreements for years.
show us the REVENUE or move aside.

VTSS has no idea of how to address the investment community. They can't even hire the right consultants as is evidenced by the comment in one of their past releases where they, VTSS management, bragged about how they had "increased the financial leverage" of the firm. Which of course was the exact opposite of what they had done. The point being they don't even know the language of finance.
But this whole idea of standing up and yelling. . we have tons of design wins .. is very hollow. The financial community has no possible way of validating that statement. And as I have said previously it is not an audited number by the "independent" auditors so management can define and report any number they want with complete impunity. it is exactly the same with a company reporting "bookings." I once followed pretty closely a company who reported "bookings" every quarter. I wrote them down. After about 18 months I called the CFO and said I was taking the bookings and using a 2 quarter lag and comparing it to the reported revenue. He was about 40% short. The next quarter they started reported bookings AND cancellations. The real issue is VTSS is hiding and there is a reason.
Yes I realize the whole industry waves design wins at us. But the rest of the industry follows it up with some revenue. what i keep thinking is VTSS sells a component. Which means if VTSS is going to see an increase in revenue so is everyone else selling components into that same product. I haven't seen any other company saying 2014 will be a great year. Admittedly VTSS is small enough that what would be growth not worth mentioning to Broadcom could double VTSS revenues.
But when it comes to communicating with the financial community: Vitesse is a MESS.
and one more thing christ3opher. That "quiet period" your investor relations guy was taking about. You assume it refers to the time between the close of the quarter and the release of the earnings numbers. I am pretty certain he is referring to the current activity in the brains of management

actually dlog,
your statement: " I am pretty certain he is referring to the current activity in the brains of management "
which describes Vitesse continuous use of the "quiet period,"
is very similar to what I had posted: " that the quiet period still seems to be going on today "
as far as my description of why Vitesse even has a "quiet period". is because of the many complaints here in how Vitesse never has anything to tell us or their is "no news "or "we never hear a peep out of them".
I explained what I was told and the reason why it is practiced.
your statement as Vitesse having a "hollow" sense of how their design wins are depicted without showing any revenue, is very true.
For as we all have been here to live through the last six years of what you stated with No revenue to show for it.
This being the reason why I posted what I posted. Vitesse is at a very pivitol point in their business. The fourth Q must begin to show some strength, since the last two Q's were beginning to show a slight movement off of the bottom and as product begins to ramp. If their is no movement up from that bottom in Q four and a boatload of excuses, then there is absolutely a very serious problem with this company.
as far as Vitesse bragging about themselves "increasing financial leverage" I am not sure exactly what you are speaking of.
I, like most here got caught up in this debacle well over six years ago, but unlike yourself and others, I have been able to understand and accept some, not all of what we have all been through. for six years I have been bringing the information that I find to this forum and occasionally I will add my thoughts, sometime positive and sometime negative. I do not come here to be criticized from bringing the information of what I thought this forum was about. I appreciate your hosting the forum but If it is to be a constant bitchfest complaining about this management team, then what good is it?
I and others have stated many times over, that we are all just along for the ride. Willam Martin, Needham and the many many others who have millions on the line are the ones who will decide the fate of this management team, not us.
we hear about the debt, over and over and over. the debt is out of managements hands now. the holders most likely want too much more to make a deal. I am sure this is the only reason why the debt will most likely be finally settled on the due date and not sooner. This to me shows financial responsibility.
also, we must remember Vitesse is a start up, the past is nothing

the big deal here is that Sprint bot the remaider of ClearWire they had an option to purchase. and Softbank (Japanese tech money store) bought Sprint. And CLWR had won the auction for the 2.5Ghz spectrum in the USA that was also chosen by China for their use as TDD (time domain). Now ALU is chosen to provide the LightRadio boxes - - from work done inside the old Bell Labs side of LU. Sprint will be the first to market TDD over FDD (frequency domain) in the USA and China (and Japan and others) making a global TDD standard at the same frequency around the globe.
TDD is faster than FDD and uses 1588 timing - - and VTSS is inside.
>> VTSS is a start-up, the past is nothing<<<
yes but the past is still paying the bills with revs declining but enough to come close to the qtr numbers until this roll-out begins in full production. the longer it takes the more stretched the smaller corps in this build take hits. and it is about 1-2 yrs behind schedule. that is why MSPD sold and will divest inside MACOM and why AMCC will either get to sell product or flame out of cash.
from the ALU/S pr:: the S dude says he is happy to have worked with ALU thru the Network Vision stage and pilot run. now we have entered the contract stage. this is where the orders are let and negotiations on price and delivery of components begins to take shape for the first ramp of production builds (here and at ZTE and Huawei for the CT contracts) this in itself is a quiet period --because work is being done at rush pace but no installs are noted by anal cysts for several months.
until VTSS gets to $60MM from new products and then to +$100MM we are still vulnerable to delays. this is one reason that fat Andy had leverage and time on his side. once we cross $100MM from the products designed since 2010 we have replaced current revs and the old legacy revs are a nice bonus (expect about $50-70MM). we did $29+MM in new products for 2013 with a double projected for 2014. Subtract new from the near $100MM total 2013 revs and you can see the legacy products; which have declining revs at a slower pace.

Could someone interpret the above? Is this the inevitable reaction of industry giants to VTSS' moves to capture LTE-A? I wonder if CRG is still complacent about the competition?
