Waiting on AAPL

From my visits to the Sprint and Boost storesand their websites lately - - -it is becoming clear to me that this whole cell phone industry has been waiting on AAPL to get their act together and ship a tri-band capable phone - - this delay is felt all the way to the equipment vendors in the carrier space.

from the Sprint website and Dr. Nuss at the Shareholder's meeting -- Sprint Spark capable phones will support not only 3G and 4G (read iPhone 5S/C) but also 4G-LTE/Advanced. Sprint has worked hard this year to install 100 cities with the new network which runs on 2.5GHz in TDD (Time Division Duplex) --- the same frequency and data that is used in China and likely Japan ---as Softbank owns Sprint and now ClearWire.

Samsung Galaxy S3s (now shipping to Sprint and Boost) and the S4 and S5 are, and have been Sprint Spark compatible. HTC One, LG G3 and now on Boost Mobile (a sub of Sprint) the ZTE Warp Synch for $179 and $35/month.

Good news!!! the Aaple iPhone 6 is shown as Sprint Spark compatible. Now it is called Sprint Spark but Boost calls it Enhanced 4G . So we are finally ready to take all of the major phone vendors into the 4G-LTE/ Advanced realm. And then we can all call the upgrade 5G in the near future.

VTSS has a 1588 timing chip inside the ALU LightRadio boxes that Sprint is using to roll out the Advanced network.

We also have ZTE as a major customer.

And their 6 inch Android phone with most of the bells and whistles of the other major vendors for less money - puts China in the game against Samsung, LG from Korea and AAPL from ???

remember that CRG said the Advanced roll-out is only 10% complete.

the best is yet to come!!!

daWiley1- Thanks for your analysis on the cell phone marketplace and potential markets for VTSS.

I think part of the problem with getting VTSS stock up, in addition to historical poor management and not meeting estimates is a general perception that VTSS is still a company whose world is still old Ethernet technology.

They need a PR campaign to educate Wall Street that we are/can be Apple and Samsung phone suppliers. Look at the stock performance of the Skyworks Solutions and Avago technologies of the world.

to date - -VTSS has not shipped product that goes inside smartphones - -so they are not "phone suppliers".

conferences like the recent one do give information about where VTSS stands in the new network - -and all of their NEW products use new Ethernet technology.

most anal cysts are not that savvy. all it takes is several quarters of rising revenues to get Wall St. interested in a ticker. while VTSS is making strides toward that goal - -they are losing revenue from legacy products. their failing at the last cc was to announce a drop off in legacy revenues without quantifying the damage. easy to do but they left it to the market to decipher. a 30% decline in the $11MM or so legacy revenues might be a non -event as there are non-operating savings to the office move and the interest savings. but that was not spoken. i do like that CRG and company don't tout future numbers like the CFO at Plug Power who just stated that they will do $75 and then $150MM in the coming years. fine - -you quantify - you deliver. or the AMCC pumper CEO who said that his ARM server on a chip would do $300MM in annual revs - -where are they?? VTSS gets IP revs from AMCC for each chip sold - -so deliver!!!

VTSS is so down in the plumbing of the net that they can be missed. one day - -every call or download will go thru at least one VTSS chip.

You can see from the Sprint ads that their marketing has a hard time telling folks that they have a new network coming online -- most folks think that Sprint service sucks - -and the old WiMAX service from most reports - -did. do they cripple sales of 2/3 of their phone offerings by telling folks that if you want to get on the new network you will need to buy a new Sprint Spark capable phone?? that includes all the iPhone 3s, 4s and 5s and Samsung Galaxy S3s and all Motorola, Blackberry, LG and HTC phones sold over a year ago?? when the network is installed and capable - -maybe they will say that - -for now --they have inventory of "legacy" phones to sell.

p.s. (good thing i Copy to clipboard my posts before hitting Submit - -i was dumped and this post is being made from a Paste.)

DaWiley1, this is at once the beauty and the frustration of investing in VTSS at this moment. The value proposition cannot be understood by the typical mo'mo' anal-ist (like the boobs at "Zacks"), so VTSS for them does not exist, unless and until the top-line starts to rise, but the share price will rise then because the average analyst understands this much, if nothing else. In the interum, VTSS will be insinuating itself into every aspect of the network, starting at the edge and moving inward -- like an attacking virus.

These guys really understand how to exploit their market (s).

Thanks for the assessment da Wiley, these days everyone seems to be in waiting mode, board members included. The latest excitement from the company 802.11 AC comes with the usual addendum- we must wait and wait for eventual $$ to start rolling in.
The lone positive in this waiting game is that unlike past years there is money to pay down debt.
Patience is said to be a virtue, I am all in! hoping for sweet returns eventually...

Peace,
useless
