I guess another "Store" shows expansion, but I wish they would stop hanging their hat on record "design wins" and actually sell something.

Volume heavy today 257k (3 hrs. into the session) and hit low of $ 2.81. Let's hope volume really picks up today and marks a short-term bottom.

Is there anyone on this board who could provide us with a definition of what constitutes a "design win." All I know is it is an unaudited number which means any company anywhere can claim to have as many design wins as they want and they will never have to answer to it.

Looking at VTSS I think I can make a pretty strong case that "design wins" and revenue are inversely related. The more the design wins the lower the revenue.

I can also say that without question the only companies that continue to talk about the growth in design wins are those who cannot talk about growth in revenue.

A design-win is the possibility for some undisclosed amount of future revenue. It is unaudited (very true dlog). Unless these guys want to see the share price at $2 again, I think that they better give the market some guidance. Going ahead with settling the (October) debt would similarly show confidence, and bring BE into the $28M range.

Would it kill them to give guidance?

A lady that I respect has said, "When you find yourself riding a dead horse - get off". I got off - I traded my dead horse for what should be a race horse - but nonetheless, I got off this dead horse. They could have paid off the debt months ago - but didn't. How does keeping the cash in the bank earning nothing while continuing to pay 8% or more make any sense - only if you can't spare the cash to pay off the debt - that would be my guess. However, the crooks have this little company and are milking it to "their" advantage - not mine or yours. I can't recall how many years I have been here - I just know that it was too many. I will continue to watch and hope somehow they deliver the miracle for all of you, but I will just be watching. Good luck to all of us. We all deserved much better.

So far, vtss' "turn-around" has been funded by debt and the gullability of the shareholders. Who can blame you? Best of luck Satbob.

I am dismayed that not one of these over-payed folks at the top will put their reputation out there, and give some forward guidance to calm the waters - what the hell?!

...still plunging.

...come in Camarillo...come in...

The question is, will the gain in market share be enough to offset macroeconomic effects? Was this what the announcement that VTSS is broadening its sales force was designed to do?

...hello Camarillo...is anyone there?

I share Satbob's frustration at the non-performance of VTSS over the years, but still trade in and out of the stock. I guess I'm afraid the moment I leave the stock, it will finally become a four bagger from a merger/buyout.

If Billy Martin gives up on the stock, I would probably finally throw in the towel. His supporting CRG does give me pause though.

News from Intel should ease our pain, somewhat...

Dlog, No one is more distrustful in life than me but when Big money started buying into Crg's vision/ideas/plans a calm came over me because for sure Vitesse shared very very personal information with these guys...
The design wins must be on the level and on pace to produce the taste treats we've all been waiting for.

Peace,

Under events & presentations Vitesse shares a lot of information guidance related etc.

Graig-Hallum, Wedbush ... share interesting stories!

GARIF - this was not an irrational market move from which VTSS will recover in a few days.

VTSS already said in the last earnings call that legacy products would take a hit in the first half of the year. Now, it seems like there exists the potential for less growth than what was forecast in new products. Things have changed.

The news release about the new sales rep I believe was to signal to the investment community (not even VTSS could be that oblivious to a plunging share price) a "steady as she goes" message of continued long-term growth with no overt claim actionable in a court of law. Having said that, the acid test will come at the end of the month. If they pay the debt due, then that will be a strong favorable signal. But a lot can happen in the next two weeks.

One thing the market hates is uncertainty, and recent events and trends in the various markets bring all the presentations from all the recent "dog & pony shows" into question.

The plunging share price should say one thing to VTSS: "Time to execute."

Unfortunately VTSS has another hurdle to get over (The general market decline and especially the Semis). Intel reports record revenues and beats earnings estimates and is down. If you're not buying Intel are you buying VTSS?

As da-wailey observed,
"their failing at the last cc was to announce a drop off in legacy revenues without quantifying the damage. easy to do but they left it to the market to decipher. a 30% decline in the $11MM or so legacy revenues might be a non -event as there are non-operating savings to the office move and the interest savings. but that was not spoken."

We continue to deal with a wonderful engineer trying to play CEO...
"Time to execute" but they are, have been, continue so, just that it takes so freaking long to see daylight in Vitesse's racket! for example,
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/nokia-networks-wins-major-4g-223001482.html
We probably won't see a penny from this venture until 2017.

As for the debt, execute they will for it's been promised! but if they could negotiate on very favorable terms I would rather they pay half and use funds to pursue some complementary technology, like they've done with Seagate.

History will show this retraction in price ON LOW VOLUME was a GOLDEN buying opportunity.

I see someone turned the spigot back on, but at very low volume.

Tech: I think that what INTC sells, although related, is not exactly what VTSS sells. It's a legit data point because every net-connected computer (pretty much all of them) sold will necessitate the build-out of evermore and better network infrastructure (THIS VTSS sells!).

GARIF: You're right. There's a lot of phumphering and mincing that goes on by VTSS' talking heads at the earnings calls. But also, it would be great if we got the occasional "re-affirm guidance" too. Even clear information changes over time, and markets hate uncertainty. Also, the debt is not paid until the debt is paid. It will also give us a signal about how effected VTSS is by the industry slow-down.

" because every net-connected computer (pretty much all of them) sold will necessitate the build-out of evermore and better network infrastructure (THIS VTSS sells!)."

Yes! and as such Vitesse niche is more recession proof than most,as build outs continue forward trajections. Take for example 802.11, it's happening at break-neck speeds...
I repeat my nonsense, your addiction to gadgets stands to make Vitesse and others very rich as time moves forward. The goal of a world connected is coming closer and closer to becoming reality! part of me welcomes it but my wiser side asks, how do we get addicts to dispose of used gadgets safely??
How do we get Bees to return home safely??

Dec. 3 is supposed to be VTSS's next earnings call. Estimate is for $ .04 loss.

Maybe VTSS should use some of the cash they have to repurchase shares to a point to actually make a profit. Even though it is just financial engineering, they need something to give the shares a boost.

Perhaps announcements about traction/deals regarding current products before Dec, will do the trick! a large new customer be nice...

UPDATE: It has been nine days since i announced getting off this dead horse and as of COB today the money I had in VTSS is $12K better off than if I had stayed. So many good horses have come by the last 7-8 years; I wish I had gotten off sooner. Still I wish all of you luck - I had such high hopes for it myself - it was hard to give up the dream.

Results are starting to build momentum as anticipated, hop aboard before it's too expensive...
