“Users and IT departments should bias their buying decisions towards IoT vendors who are accountable and proactive about security,” Ellis said. “This protects them directly, and sends a clear message to the vendors to take it seriously.”

To have work class companies incorporate your Security product is quite an accomplishment for a company who nearly died just a few years ago.

"India’s largest mobile operator, Bharti Airtel, has contracted Nokia Networks to build out its FDD-LTE network across six regions."
Nokia will be giving our other friend DragonWave the Millimeter portion of that contract, win win for Vitesse!

"LTE-A will likely be the technology that meets those demands, at least until the next great mobile technology is introduced. In the meantime, LTE-A is a good fix for what ails mobile operators. It addresses the pain points and challenges that operators have, and it addresses time-to-revenue pressures without compromising QoE."

Great news for Vitesse,
"The new Meraki platform, combined with the breadth of devices, opens the door for the product to be sold into large enterprises, particularly for managing branch offices and remote locations. Managing infrastructure in those locations is typically a big pain for IT departments, but Meraki enables infrastructure to be managed across the globe from a central location."

Can anyone measure the significance of this for Vitesse???
Meraki is without doubt the greatest start-up we've ever Starred with!!
RAN, C-RAN,,, Vitesse is ahead of the curve with products deployed in the fields...

exciting times,

"crossover" no longer a dirty word, $$$ for Vitesse!

"Clearly, there’s some crossover • GE said last year that it would “expand its current Industrial Internet offerings to provide better services for Chinese customers” according to CEO Jeff Immelt • GE’s Industrial Internet is expected to save Chinese business $24 billion over the next 15 years US companies can benefit from China’s growth"

As I continue to read about the virtues of "C-RAN" I always revert to a quote from Vitesse,
"The frequency and phase accuracy requirements for C-RAN are very stringent," said Uday Mudoi, product marketing director at Vitesse. "Vitesse specifically designed VeriTime to meet the exacting requirements of next-generation mobile backhaul Edge and Access broadband networks. We will continue to work with industry leaders such as Huawei and China Mobile to bring advanced network architectures like C-RAN to fruition."

"Rick Howard, chief security officer at Palo Alto Networks, said he isn't surprised that federal agencies are missing key security components for their cloud migration efforts because of two reasons. First, the government is behind the technology adoption curve, so Howard said it's hardly surprising, for example that agencies don't have proper mobile device management in place."

According to Crg, Intellisec is gearing up to come into its own, lets hope our customers use our technology to plug some of these leaks. once again "hope" continues to be the proverbial word associated with Vitesse, will they deliver before needing to re-stock the money coffer by watering down shares again?

"Our most recent generation of Intellisec PHY s which sampled in 201 4 add MA Csec encryption capability targeted
security requirements within the network including data center applications. These products began first
preproduction shipments in the quart
er. Our first adopter of our Intellisec PHY s, is a v ery large Tier 1 OEM. We
ex pect accelerating revenue from these products in the second half."

Perhaps the share price continues to hold because of the promise/hope of the above becoming a serious solution for many of our ills.

"“The industry’s first deployment of an Atom Router for commercial use proves the maturity and commercial readiness of Huawei’s innovative IP technologies and E2E solutions, and will enable Guangdong Unicom to build leading and optimised networks for users,” Gai Gang, President of the Huawei Router and Carrier Ethernet Product Line said."

" How quickly these technologies will be rolled-out on a mass-scale, remains to be seen."

"as goes China so goes vitesse'' said CRG, lets "hope" things get rolling before we run out of money AGAIN! because it's
WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR AGAIN FRIENDS!!!

" Sky Light Research expects 2015 to be a year of triple-digit growth for millimeter waves as the adoption of high-capacity 60 GHz radios into new market segments starts to ramp. “Siklu, a leading pioneer in the market, has an attractive 60 and 70/80 GHz offering which should continue to serve them well in capturing market share,” said Emmy Johnson, Founder and Principal Analyst at Sky Light Research.

Our Millimeter wave customers have cornered the market, dragonwave, Ceragon, Alu, NEC, Siklu, Bridgewave,,,
Perhaps their collective 'ramps" will help our last 2 quarters??

"“Qumulo presents so much potential to change the enterprise storage game,” said Sujal Patel, founder of Isilon, in the release."

While Qumulo has potential,Seagate has Changed Storage along with it the "potential" fortunes of a small Starup know as Vitesse. Be tuned in late 2016 to start seeing the results.

I hope this group prevails,

"AllJoyn Wants All In

Art Lancaster, chairman of the AllSeen Alliance Gateway Working Group, says the alliance's 100-plus member companies envision an AllJoyn standard that gives consumers control over all the devices and their data, with assurances of privacy and security.

"The AllJoyn Gateway Agent is the industry's first standard way to connect IoT devices and applications with such confidence," Lancaster said.

Perhaps another reason for the stability in share price??

"The new report expects that by 2015, 12.3% of 4G subscribers will be using LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology"
" but in the next three years other countries such as China and the US will take the lead on this technology."

Vitesse friendly move by ALU,

Alcatel-Lucent is also looking to diversify its customer base by selling more of its portfolio of edge and core routers to large enterprises and content providers.

I did not post the above previously GARIF, and that is one hell of a find! VTSS' storage architecture is well beyond the talking stage with Seagate. This is right up there with our partnership with Freescale in my humble opinion. Maybe this is why vtss' share price has been appreciating.

Again, good find!

Thanks phobos,
Truly makes our Storage sale of years ago a touch of genius. Our security riddled Storage solution should be making our flavor an easy sale; with mega breaches announced seemingly weekly, this Storage flavor should prove very sweet.

Vitesse is a 2016,,, story with a much lighter debt load and a few million in reserves to weather this mild storm; I agree the promises of the future have kept the share price from cratering.

SOOO Buying opportunity perhaps??

It's true GARIF.

Technology moves forward at an astonishing pace. The glacial pace of VTSS' recovery from its debacle has left room for not only competitive firms to enter the market, but also for competitive technologies. I think that this may have been one variable in how VTSS may have estimated how much its own technology is worth that I question.

As an example, solar power is less than 0.5% of electricity generation in the world, but that percentage is doubling every two years. This is a rate, that if it persists, would mean that solar could provide all of the planet's electric generation capacity in less than 20 years.

In these days of SDN/NFV/SON, why would a networking company want to rely solely upon an essentially hardware implementation for anything? VTSS does have a lock on the best switching technology (for now), but this can change.

Many tech companies grow by acquisition, and if VTSS can't do that (it will need meteoric growth soon), it will have to be acquired.

I will be looking very closely at the numbers (and the BS story --> "softness in China") for Q3.

Raging Billy is at 169 days.

I was getting ready to slam him again. but I checked the price on the day he was appointed to the BOD, $3.05. Trading today at $3.88. That's up 27% in less than 6 months. So I guess I will wait to slam him until it goes down again. It looks like he has something like $55 million sitting in the company. If he can get a plus 27% for the next 6 months that would put the stock close to $5 per share, up 60%+ for his first year on the BOD (which will be very close to the time of the 3Q earnings release Phobos). The last time the stock was at $5 was April of 2011. It doesn't get back there by hoping and wishing. Time to execute.

I agree it's hard to slam BM when the stock is up since he joined the BOD. The Board pre-BM seemed to enjoy the status quo and having their own little piggy bank. I'm sure BM will shake things up in the future.

Speaking of the stock price, it's amazing what a reverse split ( 1:20 in 7/2010) does for the stock price. We're really talking about a 19 cent stock masquerading as a $ 3.90 stock.

If you want to engage in an exercise that will leave you shaking your head make an effort to estimate how big of a supplier VTSS is to CSCO. Get a good calculator because you need to go to about 5 or 6 or 7 decimal places before you see anything but zeros. If I am a manager, at CSCO, of the buyers that interface with vendors I assign the most disposable junior person I can find to be the buyer interfacing with VTSS. Because CSCO spends less money with VTSS than it does to empty the garbage cans from its offices.

Sounds like VTSS needs a Molly Maids franchise to increase revs. I'm sure having Cisco as a customer, no matter how small, is just good PR for their beleaguered Marketing/Sales team.

If VTSS could secure a Molly Maid franchise and get CSCO as a customer it would not only increase revenues but it would be profitable revenue as well, at least until it came under the management of Gardner. He would probably begin to secure design wins for the "new product" garbage cans to be fully implemented in 2016.

and the analyst estimates for the year are a little less than what I was initially seeing: the year ('15) is at $107.32M, Q1 was $24.8, Q2 is estimated at $24.8M as well, and Q3 is estimated at 27.59M. Through the mysteries of subtraction that leaves a Q4 at $30.13M, which should (?) squeak past break-even. Maybe.

THIS is a strong H2?

Oofa!

...and yet the share price target is still at $5.15. Are the analysts crazier than we are?

Phobos:

I can guarantee you that you and we (this board) know more about VTSS than those "analysts." Most of whom have only heard of VTSS because their company did the investment banking work for VTSS. Otherwise they wouldn't spend 5 minutes on this company.

"If you want to engage in an exercise that will leave you shaking your head make an effort to estimate how big of a supplier VTSS is to CSCO."

Absolutely! Vitesse probably feels like the male spider does to several specie of female spiders in relation to Cisco but an extra 4 million dollars a year in orders would mean the world to an ant like Vitesse. An extra million this past Q from Cisco would have made a huge difference in Vitesse perception.

Strong news about Meraki should open the door for more orders.

I trust Serval light has a place in Lucent's new small cells and Curtis-Wright's six port...
Good to hear customers introducing and growing product lines, perhaps this will make it easier for Crg to hit his numbers in the future.

GARIF, I'm just trying to make sense out of this too. I'm glad if anyone else finds my thinking process in the threads on this site helpful.

After the most recent earnings call the analysts lowered their expectations for 2015: the "softness in China" excuse simply stopped working. Expectations for the year went from around $111M to $107M. We saw something new as well: I'm going to call it the "seasonality" excuse (the "softness in China" excuse got only one scant mention). VTSS has been displaying about a 6% seasonality with H2 stronger than H1 over the last couple of years. The reason for this or why it is occurring were not really answered during the call.

The design-win metric is great, but it is unaudited, and you just have to ask, "If they have so many design-wins, where is the revenue?" The two or three-year lead-time from design-win to manufacture strains credibility, especially when VTSS has two software packages that are supposed to cut time to market by 70% (36 mos. to around 11 mos.). OK, where is the revenue? If this is true, we should start seeing the product ramp steepen perceptibly. Instead, the opposite seems to be happening.

What are we not being told?

I'm looking for a Q3 still around $28M and for VTSS to reach BE by Q4. Anything else is just not worth it.

This "investment" is not working for me, and never did. Lou may as well still be running this company.

"What are we not being told?"

d'weily mentioned underhanded issues from our Chinese friend Huawei over a year ago, did the issue get resolved to Vitesse satisfaction or has our business in China dropped because our technology is being mass produced for free??

I recall Toyota Stealing Solomon Techs Prius technology, well! Solomon is no longer with us. Indeed no longer is the China softness a Q1 issue but now Q2 also, something stinks in mudville.

I also wonder about our "turnkey key"! according to Crg CES/VISAA has been licensed by over 100 companies! is this accounted for as IP revenue??

The lone certainty ARE the stock compensations,,, The second wave of INTELLISEC products are said to be starting to rumble sooo are we looking into 2017 for their heavy duty ramp??

Phobos could you and I be the last 2 on this Titanic? perhaps their is a life boat in the mist someplace....

our resolves are being tested indeed!!!!

In answering my own question, everything points to Vitesse playing a role in Chambers plan to "crush" them.

Vitesse is a double agent! one of these guys could be the one CRg is providing all the bells and whistles to, for their white-box.

In TERMINATOR-1 the kid asked,
"We're not gona make it are we, we as people?"
"It is in your nature to destroy your selves" responded the robot.
As a follower of our past and present history, we prove the robot correct every day.

We are extremely sick starting from the very top to the common Joe. I tread very carefully around my brethren, he deserves serious respect if you value your well being because he seldom values his. I have on many occasions questioned our sanity, such as the drug dealer who continues to sell booze to the nearly comatose drunk, "where is your sense of humanity, this guy can barely hold the glass? "well his an adult", "he keeps insisting" have been some of the responses over the decades.

So, being "nuts" is more of a norm in society Phobos, very few among us take responsibility, we are consumed with the self/self gratification and the HELL with anyone else!
Us damned fools seem not to realize we are all on the same ship, what happens on one end eventually affects the other.

Keep in mind that every weapon we've created, we have put to use! but hey perhaps Vitesse will help slow some of this evil.

For the record, I love life and continue to extract the best from all I come in contact with.

" If and when machines begin to surpass humans in general intelligence, the research would increasingly be done by machines. And as they got better, they would also get better at doing the research to make themselves even better.'

"Eliza Strickland: Actually, he thinks our best bet is letting the AI take charge of its own training. This would be like letting the AI write its own rules of robotics."

Wouldn't it prevent nuclear wars by preventing the Viruses who can create them?? US/mankind???

Humans are Crazy- re-visited,
Through the 80's Von's grocery store used to have depending on the size of the store, one to two STAND ALONE registers; stand alone registers can function like normal in the event of a power failure, which would occur 2-3 times a year in the Los Angeles area.
Interestingly as the company began to close smaller older stores in favor of the larger so called modern stores, they killed the stand alone registers; so if you find yourself in Von's/Pavilions/Safeway today and a power stoppage occurs you'll have two choices, wait and hope the grid comes back or check for the nearest area with power.

According to experts our Brains are growing smaller! no cause for alarm say some but wasn't larger brain size one of the key element of our evolution?? so if our brain is retracting are we not growing dumber? we sure behave like so daily! road rage, impulsiveness, turf wars, hatred of neighbor because he sports a natural tan and I have to work on mine, countries shopping around their garbage on barges for poor nations to store on their soils, but interestingly these very rich countries later buy land and vacation in the very places where they sold their toxic wastes.

The ocean is a classic example of our disconnectedness, we dump radio active goods(thanks to britain, france,,european waters are littered with toxic drums), cruise ships dump waste over board, city wastes often go untreated right into this salty oasis, but then we eat the products from this ocean!!!

IS THAT CRAZY?? or perhaps it is I for pointing it out... or the rest of us(including board members) for ignoring it??

It is also true that so-called "net neutrality" will favor minimalist infrastructure: wireless, which VTSS offers at the network's edge.

So far, things are looking good.

I am very interested in what CRG presages for Q3 in the Q2 earnings call -- remember Q3 will almost be over by the time they report Q2.

Let's hope for an end to "softness in China".

"24% of organizations say that they currently inspect encrypted SSL/TLS traffic tactically by implementing technologies on the network on an ad-hoc or as-needed basis, but they are in the process of implementing a more comprehensive enterprise strategy in the future."

INTELLISEC wins are said to be strong, perhaps we're in the future plans of many.

"Small cells are like DRUNKS" and like "drunks" they can easily be had! but Vitesse offers the solution...

"Siklu Millimeter-Wave Radios Integrated into Alcatel-Lucent 9500" Win-Win for Vitesse ...

Is Vitesse in these AVAYA releases??

" (It seems like "small data" is VTSS' market -- ed.)"
Couldn't agree more! the company has truly set her self to feast on these opportunities.

Cavium vs AMCC! Few if any give Crg kudos for picking his areas to compete in wisely, in this regard he has earned his heavy pay.

Vitesse ultimate winner as customers fight it out

"While Dell, HP and Juniper slug it out to try to win a piece of the multibillion-dollar SDN market, their newest SDN nemesis is their oldest: Cisco. Earlier this month, at its second-quarter fiscal year earnings briefing, Cisco said its SDN business was booming. "We are pulling away from our competitors and leading in both SDN thought leadership and customer implementations. The market has recognized the benefit of ACI as compared to the concepts of aspirational competitors," said Cisco CEO John Chambers of its own SDN solutions.

"Verizon Communications Inc Moving To Small Cells To Boost LTE Performance"
Crg always professed "Small cell" being a 2014 and beyond story, he was correct! lets hope he feasts on many of these opportunities.

Be it Cergaon, Moxa, Juniper... customers are having a field day bringing new products to market, fun times indeed...

GARIF, one thing I have learned from listening to far too many VTSS earnings calls is to never underestimate the potential for "softness in China".

The outlook is generally positive. What that means for VTSS is anyone's guess.

Interesting article,
"It seems that the opportunity in mobile connectivity continues to be attractive, and as long as Broadcom can execute on it, the business should continue to grow over the long term."

Executing has not been easy the last few years, Thank you.

"New areas of focus that he talked about included automotive and industrial applications, which other chipmakers have cited as interesting opportunities as well."

Vitesse beat them to this punch also...

There might be a little bit of VTSS in every car soon.

Freescale has been acquired by NXP:

http://otp.investis.com/clients/us/free_scale/usn/usnews-story.aspx?cid=896&newsid=28737

If you recall, VTSS sold IP cores to FSL:

This could make the contract with FSL an even bigger deal.

"The combined company will capitalize on the growing opportunities created by the accelerating demand for security, connectivity and processing."

Wow! Wow! awesome news indeed Phobos! Yes, yes, with a foot already in the door... Not "COULD'' but this will definitely make the contract much, much bigger. We've hit a nice jackpot! perhaps at minimum doubling the value of the original deal.

"Vitesse will offer pin-compatible options to the integrated PHYs in Freescale’s platform, providing an easy upgrade to Synchronous Ethernet, highly accurate, multi-operator VeriTime IEEE 1588v2 timestamping and Intellisec IEEE 802.3AE MACsec security."

I understand the above quote to mean there is extra money to be made outside the original deal! does this make sense? correct me someone, please.

"Freescale is the only company supplying IoT solutions from edge to network to cloud. No other company can do that."

Could Vitesse be playing a part in this Phobos? am I wrong in thinking that they could be?

Just in every 5th car would make the company very, very, RRich!

Part of the reason for Arubas purchase was its WIFI .11ac capabilities, perhaps smart money will realize that Vitesse is also playing a part in this upgrade cycle.

"The macro BTS can benefit from much higher silicon integration delivering higher performance while slashing the cost and power for next generation systems."

Lower cost lower power sounds like a better mouse trap from Cavium.

"These companies are so price conscious that they dismiss systems not based on merchant silicon out of hand. You have different concerns, and the calculus needs to be your own, but it’s worth remembering that there are lot of ways to skin the reliability-plus-availability-plus-performance cat. If you’re concerned about price or any other attribute of the systems you’ll be proposing, it’s a good idea to question everything. Which brings me to my point: There are no longer any safe assumptions in the network."

Brings to mind how Vitesse keeps working with 65nm, low price and power keeps old reliables relevant.

" The technology will enable easier deployments for small cell mobile backhaul resulting in lower cost solutions for high-speed data delivery in 4G and 5G networks."
This sounds scary for Vitesse from InterDigital.

"Not all the SMB networking vendors are offering 10 GB, but that has effectively become table stakes, Joe said."
Lets hope ZyXEl's strategy works out,

"There's a hitch, though. As noted above, IIoT networks will need to support "time-awareness" with 1588. But security and 1588 have historically been incompatible, with the encryption completely disrupting the network timing accuracy. The good news is that modern "secure 1588" silicon hardware technologies are already available, which deliver 256-bit level encryption without compromising 1588 network timing."

Vitesse seems to have all the necessities needed to succeed in the IoT world, lets hope they deliver.
"HOPE" the eternal word associated with Vitesse.

""When [Hawking, Gates and Musk] all agree on something, it's worth paying attention," he said."

"It's in your nature to destroy yourselves" said the robot to the kid. What will happen when our machines grow smarter than us and conclude that we are impulsive, selfish, and generally consume all resources available to us??
Will our creations show mercy on our soullessness or will they remove such Vermicious Knids from existence??

I posed the above questions to a fresh holder of a,
Doctor of Philosophy Degree(at Dartmouth) in Computer Science,

He replied "there will always be multiple safeguards to anything we build" Yea like Fukushima right?? I shook his hand and wished him the best of decision making in his career.

"D-link still a customer?"

I don't know GARIF. I was going off the following:

"Features of D-Link’s 1210 series switches include energy savings, advanced security and Layer 2 switching option."

The above sounds like "Eco Ethernet" and "MacSec".

"The 10GBASE-T copper ports support 10 Gbps speeds over CAT6A/CAT7 cabling up to 100 meters and offer a lower cost alternative to fiber."

This sounds like EDC (electronic dispersion compensation).

This is my best guess, but still a guess.

"After years could Amcc finally..."

Gopi shouldn't start counting his money yet... he's in a very tight competitive field. Good luck to AMCC.

I wonder where this fits in with Seagate's Kinetic architecture, where all the drives get their own IP address. VTSS has segmented the market carefully (VTSS is closer to the network's edge (hard drive), while others (AMCC) are competing at the top-of-rack space). Even more impressive: VTSS has a piece of the top-of-rack too through IP sold to AMCC (and others). Very nice.

I like what I'm reading. Good find daWiley1.
